Academic Testing SBA/HSA

At Kapa`a Middle School we participate in Nationwide Academic Testing using the Hawaii Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) in ELA and Math, for all grade levels. Our 8th grade students also participate in the Hawaii State Science Assessment (HSA). Both assessments will be administered during Quarter 4 while students are on campus using the alohahsap.org testing site. 

 

Below are some resources linked for Parents/Guardians regarding testing information:

 

SBA testing for grade levels 6, 7, and 8 is scheduled below:

• SBA ELA CAT April 9th, 10th, 11th
• SBA ELA PT April 16th, 17th, 18th
• SBA Math April 23rd, 24th, 25th

HSA Testing for 8th graders will be offered twice, the first round in Quarter 3 on March 5th, 6th, 7th. The second round is currently being scheduled during Quarter 4.

 

During testing time, we kindly request that students get a good nights sleep and eat a healthy breakfast. Students can bring their own corded headphones with an auxiliary cable - however, bluetooth headphones are NOT allowed.
